Fight Greed

Greed is pervasive. It arises from wanton pursuit of self interest unrestrained by consideration of the needs of others, when laws, regulations, religious belief systems, and conscience fail to keep it in check. We will help you fight it, whether it arises from the greed of wealthy oligarchs deploying international corporations, or elected government representatives serving the corporations and themselves rather than you and all mankind and all life our earth sustains.

But this page stands for what we will do to inspire, celebrate and honor people who are already giving greatly of themselves for the sake of all life on earth. Some will be well known, most will not. We cannot honor all who are deserving, but the ones we can will stand for you the many deserving.

Until then, thank you for all you do, but please remember…

Goodness, what a terrible sight to behold such suffering. Help these poor innocent children. I can only do so much as an individual, but we need the help of each other to end suffering of this kind and so many others of our world. Our Creator has sent this message to us for a reason and I believe it is so we get off our duffs and change this world. I wish I had more answers.

Poverty is not accidental it is a product of the pursuit of maximum worldwide market penetration by western multinationals..as well as the desire to create maximum surplus value (ie profits following payment for materials, wages etc) which means suppressing wages as low as possible.
The International Monetary Fund has operated hand in hand with multi-national corporations to ensure a severe limiting of vital public spending within many (particularly African)countries..and that these poor countries with open their fledgling markets to much larger, more powerful and often subsidised western multi-national companies..which take from mineral and resource rich countries often leaving devastation..ie check out Shell’s record in Nigeria.
Poverty and hunger are not inevitable.

I agree that beneath it all, greed is what ails us. Much of it is our own, in the USA at least, but the worst is the greed of those so wealthy and powerful they get away with it. We just can’t let them. I’m a peaceful person, but I’m glad there’s a protest against Wall Street greed. Those people should pray that angry people like those who lost their jobs and homes don’t take up guns and start a civil war against them and those selfishTea Party people who oppose government regulation.

It is incumbent upon all of us to stand fast against this raging river of greed. And I must thank you SEN for not only helping inspire us to do so, but providing means that make it easier for us to act in concert. Together we can at least be as rocks and boulders that slow the current, even if we cannot yet form a dam to stop it. I prefer that to feeling like a pebble being swept to oblivion by the greed of those who yet hold power!
