Background re Seize BP Demonstrations: The Seize BP Campaign is garnering media attention nationwide! On June 3, CNN featured the Seize BP Week of Action on television. “We know millions of people are deeply concerned about what’s going on in the Gulf right now, and we expect large numbers of people to come out to the protests,” a Seize BP organizer told CNN.
People across the country are mobilizing to demand more decisive action! SEN believes these demonstrations will help awaken politicians to outrage over inadequate regulation and control of international corporations, even if they do not succeed in gaining temporary seizure of BP on the basis of national emergency and evidence of criminal neglect and fraud by BP.

YOUR COMPANY NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING NOW. WHY NOT TRY A GIANT WATER VACUUM? NEXT TIME YOU NEED TO HAVE A VALVE A SHUT OFF VALVE IN PLACE LIKE THEY DO AT THE GAS PUMPS.

I have been fascinated & repulsed by the web-cam showing the oil gushing out as BP’s robots try to cap it. I’ve been sickened by the sight of the brown pelicans & other sea birds gasping for breath as people try to save them! WHY is there only 1 bird cleaning station in all of Louisiana? The least BP & the governments could do is set up enough sea bird stations to save what we can! The whole thing makes me SICK with Rage.
BP must be held accountable for their sheer negligence. The suffering the animals have to endure is horendous.

My daughter asked me how our generation could let this happen, and why I was still supporting Obama, given his intention to resume additional offshore drilling and spend more on nuclear plants than solar, wind, and all other clean and safe energy sources combined. I feel so ashamed of what we have become.
The profits of oil companies are obscene, and their greed and willful negligence must end!

We weren’t able to find a demonstration nearby, but we signed several of those petitions you listed. We must invest in safe, clean energy sources. Shame on the politicians who do nothing but help the oil companies grow rich at our expense. It is disgusting to see their TV commercials casting themselves as humanitarians!

BP must pay, but equally at fault are the Republicans who have long given Big Oil whatever it wanted. The disaster is Cheney’s legacy, and idiots like Palin would have us worship him.
It is time for Americans to come together and make change in their country. I pray that this is the only wake up call required to the US leaders to clean up their act and their country.

This whole disaster with BP is ridiculous. The amount of oil spewing into the Gulf of Mexico skyrocketed by 1000′s of barrelfuls Wednesday after an submerged robot plainly hit the containment cap that has been getting petroleum from BP’s Macondo well. I question how much destruction this entire oil spill is going to cost the earth when it’s all over
